Improving Food Security through Groundnut Farming

In Kadainmba and Kamabain villages, groundnut farming has become an important step toward food security and sustainable livelihoods. Groundnuts provide essential proteins and fats, while also enriching the soil for future farming cycles.

With support and training, farmers are improving planting techniques, pest control, and harvest practices, leading to higher yields. A seed loan system makes the project sustainable: after each harvest, farmers return part of the seeds, keeping enough for the next planting season. This allows the project to expand year after year and reach more families.

The income from groundnut sales helps households cover basic needs, support children’s education, and reinvest in agriculture. By combining food production with community development, the project strengthens resilience and reduces dependence on external aid, contributing to long-term progress in the region.
