Construction Wegdam High School Kamabonko Village

Success Story: Wegdam Kamabonko High School — Building Futures Since 2020

In 2020, the doors of Wegdam Kamabonko High School officially opened — and with them, a world of opportunity for hundreds of students in Sierra Leone. Founded by Brian Wegdam, the school was built with one mission: to provide quality education to children in underserved communities.

Since then, the high school has become a thriving center of learning, where boys and girls in bright blue uniforms arrive each day with hope in their hearts and notebooks in hand.

Over 400 students now have access to structured, secondary education.
Local teachers are empowered with resources and classrooms to teach.
The school has become a symbol of stability, ambition, and progress for the entire community.

Thanks to the support of the Wegdam Foundation, the Kamabonko community now has a place where dreams take shape — where the next generation learns, grows, and prepares to lead.

This isn’t just a school. It’s a promise kept.
And it’s already changing lives, one lesson at a time.
